By now, most of you have probably heard that Southern California is getting a monster El Nino this winter. LA doesn’t exactly know how to function when it rains – most everything we do is outside! With El Nino approaching in December, here are 5 fun things to do in LA that doesn’t involved getting drenched.
1. Go to the Movies
Rainy days are the perfect excuse to catch up on those new releases you’ve been dying to see! Also, rainy nights are great for girl’s night! Grab some popcorn and candy, and cozy up on those large comfy seats.
2. Check Out A New Coffee Shop
LA has tons of amazing and trendy coffee shops! While El Nino is here, explore all the new coffee shops to stay dry and warm this winter, while sipping on your favorite cup of jo. Coffee shops are also the perfect place to meet up with friends and catch up on work.
3. Try New Fitness Classes
Living in LA, most of us are used to being active outside, but while El Nino’s here, we may have to explore other methods of exercising. Rainy days are great for trying new fitness classes at your gym! Not only are fitness classes fun and different from your normal routine, but they also kick your booty in to shape – a necessity during the holiday season.
4. Go to a Brewery or Wine Bar
Craft breweries and wine bars are popping up left and right! Check out all the new hot spots and do some tastings with friends and family this winter. A little alcohol will also keep you warm from the El Nino downpour.
5. Visit a Museum
On rainy days in LA, many museums offer free admission! Check out the Getty Villa, Getty Center, LACMA, The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA and Huntington Library on a wet day. Museums are a great spot for learning and exploring a new place.
